Free Cancer Project

The Four-o'clock Flowers Around the World Free Cancer Project has received several honors and awards since its inception in 1994. The project received an award from the Points of Light Foundation for national volunteerism. The Foundation was formed by President George H. W. Bush as part of his "thousand points of light" to recognize persons across America for their volunteerism beyond the call of duty. Postmaster General Runyon, Louisiana Governor Foster, the American Cancer Society, the Cancer Association of Greater New Orleans, and others submitted letters to the Points of Light Foundation requesting the Four-o'clock Flowers Around the World Free Cancer Project receive an award. Kevin Donahoe and the Four-o'clock flower project was notified of the award, which was presented by former President G. H.W. Bush. Kevin was waiting for the award to be sent to him when he was contacted by the Points of Light Foundation that President Bush would personally present the award to him.

This is a picture of the Points of Light Award given to Kevin P. Donahoe for the Four-o'clock Flowers Around the World Free Cancer Project he began in 1994 honoring his father, Jim Donahoe. The award is sponsored by the Corporation for National Service, the Points of Light Foundation, and the Knights of Columbus.

Kevin Donahoe accepts an award for the Four-o'clock Flowers Around
the World Cancer Memorial from the Chamber of Commerce
for New Orleans and the River Region. He is also holding a proclamation and
a key to the City of New Orleans from the Mayor of the city.

receiving a Congressional Certificate for Outstanding Acheivment for his international cancer project.
