Several governors across America issued proclamations in 1994 stating that the four-o'clock cancer memorial is a "symbol of hope a cure for cancer will be discovered." Those governors include, Governor Miller of Nebraska; Governor Whitman of New Jersey; Governor Campbell of South Carolina; Governor Dean of Vermont; Governor Allen of the Commonwealth of Virginia; and Governor Glendening of Maryland.
